Cultural Design
The artwork draws on the craft heritage of Solomon Islands: the red, white and black shell money strung in Langalanga Lagoon, the long shell-inlaid tomoko plank canoes of the western islands, mother-of-pearl inlay work, the bamboo panpipe ensembles of 'Are'are, and the lagoons and coconut palms of the islands. Each element is drawn respectfully as ornate, finely detailed illustration with gold accents.
