Cultural Design
The design honors Eritrea's architecture and coastline: Asmara's famous 1938 winged Futurist service station framed in Art Deco sunburst geometry, a Massawa dhow under a triangular lateen sail, Dahlak coral reefs and the krar lyre. The sleeve bands repeat the coral-stone arcades of old Massawa, and all of it is rendered as finely detailed, richly shaded artwork with gold pinstripe accents.
